Looking at my HMO versus the PPO my mother has, I can really see the advantages of going with an HMO. I’m thankful to be with Kaiser Permanente, which offers HMO medical insurance. No longer will members have to worry about mid-year rate changes that hit them the month after they have a birthday. Their rates will no longer go up until January each year.

If your adult child was going to age off the plan or lose coverage due to lack of enrollment in college, your child will now be able to continue as a dependent on your family health insurance plan until his/her 26th birthday.
New applications for family health insurance still go by the original guidelines. A
