Most travel insurance plans have specific activities that are excluded from coverage. Participation in professional or amateur competitive sports, mountaineering and hang gliding are common exclusions. Some plans do list heli-skiing as an activity that isn’t covered, however, traditional snow skiing is not normally excluded. When shopping for travel insurance for a recreational ski vacation, additional coverage for hazardous sports may not be necessary. Always refer to the certificate of insurance for details.
